How it's governed

How Studiosity Writing Feedback Plus is academically governed

Studiosity is a learning assurance platform for universities. It gives feedback on a student's own work and does not produce work for them. The model is built on more than twenty years of feedback given by academics on student writing, much of it from before generative AI, and Studiosity's Academic Advisory Board (AAB) helps guide on academic standards.

What it was built on

Studiosity's model is built on more than twenty years of feedback given by academics on student writing, much of it from before generative AI. Student work is never used to train the model. This is a contract commitment.

Who oversees it

Studiosity's Academic Advisory Board (AAB) helps guide on academic standards, and a standing Academic Standards team, led by our Chief Academic Officer, reviews for quality assurance.

What happened when faculty checked it

At Georgia State University, instructors compared the feedback with their own evaluation of the same student work.

  • They found it clear and relevant against standard academic writing expectations.
  • They valued students being able to go through several rounds.

What “human” means here

It means the standard the product is held to, and the academics who maintain it. The test we hold it to is whether it said what a good marker would have said.
